An Elder Telling Tales of Old

[music playing]

Enter Elder:
Kids, interested? so, In 69 miles was not invited to Woodstock... he was in jazz and so.. they didn't invite him to play. Miles was good friends with Hendrix and Lennon and he was really pissed about the matter [guitar interrupts with a E7(#9) chord] ..I'm telling a good tale Bassa.. He was a bit of a narcissist being that he was a son of a millionaire negro. Hated, you know, reporters, journalists n' all, he generally had strange things, Well Except for Keith Jarrett he wouldn't.. If..aa.. anyone who played with him once would've said "No no no" if they were to ask them to play with him again, because he would say profanities and spit at them during playing andhesaid: "I don't respect a musician that has time to rehears, who has time for rehearsals I do not perceive as a musician" You understand?! How he was fucking around with.. He liked Keith Jarrett very much, they were also neighbours as it turns out, So, He had lots of strange questions, like: Why is the love.. aah.. he drove a Ferrari at all times, in winter and in summer, a journalist asked him once: "You're the only black man that drives around in New York in a Ferrari during winter and summer, so whats that all about?" "Answer that question yourself" he replied "If I, the only black man, have the guts to drive around in a Ferrari in winter and summer, than I don't have a right to drive anything else" so, elementary you.. ah.. know what kinda dude he was.. He turned to Keith Jarrett and asked in the middle of playing: " What do I like to play the most?" there's Keith Jarrett, Chick Corea and Miles Davis, have you heard of it, at a festival in Baltimore 1970...uu.. the composition's called "Call it anything" it's 40 minutes long .. ye yes yes yes.. So: "what do I like to play the most?" and turns out everyone was really confused, from this side Keith Jarrett turned to him and: "Ballads" he said, Miles really liked to hear that, miles liked to hear that kind of stuff, he used to say "Waa nice, you know me well" and he asked: "Why don't I play it anymore?" and everyone was really confused, they stopped, even asked "why don't you play ballads anymore?" they were so tensed because if they'd answer a different answer he might've never talked to them anymore (cus he was so neurotic, can you believe how neurotic he was?) he turned around and answered himself: "cus I like to play that the most" can you believe how simply ill he was? He was an ordinary ill-in-the head! you know, everyone was waiting for something from him right? you've heard of the album, 82' the doo-bops and mystery 'n all, It's in 82! what can a man do more?! It's twothousand sixteen and nothing better is composed {interrupting} "yes there is, Here""Show me"(3:33) [music playing] "no thats not it, lemme" [panog singing] "Tije Tije for the love of god Tije, Opa opa opa, bless you the roses you gave to me, I exchanged them for Opium" [Wife calling] "But I'm talking to the kids about MUSIC!! ... Ok, Fine"
